About Us

Formed in 2000, Dolfan UK became only Official Chapter of the Miami Dolphins Fan Club in the UK.

Our purpose is to support and promote the Miami Dolphins, and the NFL, and to share our experiences and stories amongst the Dolphins' community of fans, both in the UK and Worldwide.

The History 

The origins of the club date back to 1993, when three former members started an unofficial fan club, dedicated to the Miami Dolphins. The turn of the century brought exciting changes to the club, with members travelling in groups to see games, culminating in the club being officially recognized by the Miami Dolphins, and earning it’s much cherished “official chapter” status in 2000.

In fact, our membership secretary had at that stage, already been attending home, and road games since the mid-80’s, becoming an honorary member of the Broward Booster Club from 1988 to 1995. She was then a member of the official Miami Dolphins Fan Club from 1995 before finally becoming a member of Dolfan UK in 2001.

MVP Awards

The club’s members have voted for its MVP annually since 2000, with visiting members presenting the trophy to the winner each year.

Other Interesting Facts

We are very fortunate to have fostered an excellent relationship and have many friends within the Miami Dolphins organisation, Fins Corp and amongst the fans themselves in Miami which has enabled us to be very fortunate to take part in various events.

Some of these include:

Being presented with the famous giant #13 Marino jersey, by the Miami Dolphins the week following Dan Marino’s Ring of Honor Induction Ceremony after the Baltimore game

Taking the jersey and placing it on the hill at Canton for Dan’s Hall Of Fame induction ceremony (see the photo gallery), in which Dan acknowledged the jersey

Having the Miami Dolphins borrow the jersey for the period of Dan’s induction, with the jersey suspended at Dolphin Stadium for all to see

Dolfan UK members uniting with Fins Corps members on the field at half time carrying the Dan Marino banner during his ring ceremony at Dolphin Stadium

Attending Dolphin Stadium at Dan Marino’s gala evening, as invited “paparazzi”, with the Fins Corp

Dolfan UK being featured by Fins TV

Attended Touchdown Club luncheons at Shula’s as guests of Jim “Mad Dog” Mandich

Honoured as “Fans Of The Game” in pre-game ceremonies

Named on the giant HD jumbotrons at Dolphin Stadium

Participated in the distribution of Thanksgiving turkeys at Dolphin Stadium with the players and staff

Attended and participated in 790 The Ticket’s Nick Saban Show at Gatsby’s and the Dolphin Stadium

Participated with phone calls and emails to other shows on the 560 WQAM and 790 The Ticket radio stations

In June 2007, a delegation from DolFan UK presenting Jason Taylor with his 2006 MVP award at Wembley Stadium, meeting with Coach Cameron, Wayne H Huizenga and other senior figures, with photos and reports of the event featuring worldwide in the press and on the internet.
